New Patients at Kelston Dental Care

Visiting a new dentist for the first time can understandably make some people a little anxious. Our friendly team is committed to ensuring a calm atmosphere where you can be open about your concerns. The better we get to know you and form a relationship with your family, the easier it will be for us to deliver the care you’re looking for.

Your First Appointment

During your new patient appointment, we’ll have a few forms for you to fill out, such as your medical history and personal information. From there, we’ll take any necessary dental X-rays to evaluate areas that aren’t visible during an exam.

Next, you’ll see one of our general dentists for a comprehensive exam. Some of the things we’ll assess are your gum health, existing dental work and bite alignment. Then, we will perform an oral cancer screening. If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know.

If you prefer to have a clean on the same appointment, we can arrange to do so (assuming there is no active gum disease). Most visits range from 40-60 minutes, depending on whether it’s a check or a check and clean.

If You Need Treatment

Should you have active areas of decay, aging dental work or other oral health needs, our dentist will draft a care plan outlining the recommended treatments for those concerns.

We will actively involve you in discussions on the best types of therapy so that you can play a role in voicing your opinions as they relate to your smile’s health. Flexible payment options are available and we’re happy to accept both insurance and government dental plans.

‘Can I Bring My Child?’

As a family practice, we enjoy seeing patients of all ages. So if you’re looking for a new dentist past your child’s school dental therapist, we can easily accommodate their oral health needs.
