Free Dental Care for Teenagers
Book Your Free School Dental Check-Up
At Kelston Dental Care, we provide free annual dental check-ups for eligible teenagers as part of New Zealand’s publicly funded oral health programme. This programme is designed to give young people a strong foundation for lifelong dental health.
Eligible teenagers can receive free dental care from Year 9 until their 18th birthday. Our adolescent dental services focus on maintaining healthy teeth and gums while helping young people build good oral health habits for life.
Routine visits allow us to detect and treat dental issues early, helping to prevent more serious problems in the future.
Please note that the free dental scheme does not include orthodontic treatment, including braces.
Who is eligible?
Students may be eligible for a funded dental examination if:
- They are eligible for publicly funded healthcare in New Zealand (born in New Zealand, hold a resident or permanent resident visa, or have a parent/guardian who holds a work visa for more than 2 years).
- They are in school Year 9 until their 18th birthday.
- It has been 12 months since their last funded dental examination.
- If it has not yet been 12 months, you may need to wait until the eligibility period resets.
